SP-CHANGE (2): Navigate Career Transitions
Apply a 9-cell matrix and combinations to career shifts—from promotion to pivot. Map identity, body, roles across spatial, quantitative, qualitative dimensions to navigate transitions with clarity.
A career transition is rarely a single event. It is a constellation of changes—some visible, others hidden—that unfold over weeks, months, or years. You might accept a new title, relocate to another city, take a pay cut, or suddenly find yourself managing people for the first time. Yet most of us approach these shifts with a narrow focus: we update our LinkedIn profile, negotiate salary, and hope the rest will fall into place.
What if we had a map that showed us every dimension of change we are about to undergo? SP-CHANGE Matrix, introduced in a previous article, does exactly that. By distinguishing what persists (identity, body/mass, roles/configuration) from how it changes (spatially, quantitatively, qualitatively), it turns the fog of transition into a structured landscape. In this article, we apply that matrix specifically to career transitions—whether you are climbing the corporate ladder, pivoting to a new industry, launching a venture, or stepping into retirement.
